FUEGO Press: A Spicy Twist on French Press Coffee
Share
INGREDIENTS
-
2 cups of filtered water
-
1/2 teaspoon (1/4 tsp per cup for 2 coffee cups) of Delgado's Fuego Misti Uchu or preferred Fuego
INSTRUCTIONS
-
Boil the water: Fill a kettle with water and bring it to a boil. Alternatively, you can heat the water in a pot on the stove or use an electric kettle.
-
Preheat the French press: Pour some hot water into the French press to preheat it. This will help keep your coffee hot for longer.
-
Add J&E Obsidian coffee to the French press: Discard the preheating water and add the coffee grounds to the French press.
-
Add hot water: Pour the hot water over the coffee grounds, making sure to saturate all of the grounds. Give it a quick stir to ensure that all the grounds are evenly soaked.
-
Let the coffee brew: Place the plunger on top of the French press but do not press it down. Let the coffee brew for 4-5 minutes.
-
Press the plunger: Slowly and steadily press down the plunger to separate the brewed coffee from the grounds.
-
Once the coffee has been separated from the grounds, pour the coffee into two mugs.
-
Add Delgado's Fuego: Add 1/4 tsp of your preferred Fuego per mug and stir well.
-
I like my coffee like it is, but experiment with adding other fixings and enjoy!
TIPS
-
Use filtered water to avoid any unwanted flavors from tap water.
-
If the coffee tastes too strong, add a little bit of hot water to dilute it.
-
If the coffee tastes too weak, adjust the amount of coffee used for your next brew.
